  1. I’m a Curves for Women franchise owner and I’m having trouble finding information for a member who wants to sign up under GlobalFit. Where can I find information about fees and how we are reimbursed?? Our club is in Sandy, UT 84094. Will appreciate any help you can give me!

  2. What happened to Silver Sneakers program? I had inquired last year about it many women didn’t have to pay a penny for membership at Curves. At the price listed there is no difference is monthly cost. Please Respond. Thank you.

    I am wondering if I could potentially submit some of my content into your Link Roundup? I have a website that is dedicated to everything and anything success. Especially with physical training, it often requires mental motivation. On my site I have a lot of videos, famous quotes, and articles from successful individuals, which help to keep your head in the game. If you do allow submissions for your Roundup, I guess just check out my website and let me know what you think.

  5. I joined 24 hour fitness thru here and was told my membership would be active by noon the next day and that was yesterday. I went this evening and they did not have me in there system and I could not work out. The customer service number says hours are Monday thru Friday, does that mean I’ve got to wait all weekend? That’s not good.

    You should have received an email giving you directions on how to activate your 24 Hour Fitness membership (could it have landed in your junk email folder somehow?).

    Here’s the situation: for this chain only, GlobalFit technically does not sell a membership; rather we sell an activation code that’s good for a free membership. I apologize if it sounds like we’re splitting hairs, but for 24 Hour Fitness only, you do need to visit http://www.24hourfitness.com and activate your new membership using the code that you purchased from GlobalFit. (It’s sort of like buying a discount card or Groupon that you then need to redeem directly at the retailer.) You will not be charged one penny more; it’s merely an extra step that comes with the great savings you received through GlobalFit. Again, you should have received an email that explains all of this and walks you step-by-step through the process.

    In case you haven’t called our Customer Service department already, I’ve notified them to contact you asap.

  7. there are so many YMCA’s in our communities that offer the same beneficial programs as most larger gyms and are closer to our homes. don’t understand why they are not included in our discount program.

    Thanks for your feedback. We have invited a great many Y locations to join GlobalFit’s Gym Network. But as non-profit organizations given special tax status to serve their local communities, many Ys consider corporate discounts to be inconsistent with their core mission. We’ve never excluded Ys from our outreach and would welcome them to our Gym Network.

  9. This is a bunch of marlarkey. The YMCA gives a much better selection for members who are better served by water aerobics designed by the Arthritis Foundation and low impact group exercise classes for older members and/or those who are beginning to add exercise into their lives.

    This gym network from Global Fit does not meet my needs for exercise machines, weights, low impact group exercises, water aerobics designed for me because I have arthritis, swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna, and steam room in one facility which is cleaned and maintained well. And, I have never done well with any program that stipulates a mandatory 12 month commitment. Americans are obese and in unhealthy shape because we don’t commit to exercise. My friends have always had problems getting the automatic monthly payments to stop once their annual commitment was completed.

    Columbus doesn’t have anything better than the YMCA. Global Fit subsidize my YMCA membership please. Otherwise this service you offer is useless to me.

  10. The only thing I can use from Global Fit, the online tracking service (as long as it doesn’t cost me anything), is not working. Why won’t it let me register? The hyperlink goes no where. Poor programming.

I know that Global Fit and GEHA believe in fitness as a preventative measure that saves thousands of dollars in treatment costs, and therefore it saves thousands of dollars in insurance payouts. Global Fit offers a gym membership in Jazzercize in our home of Heber City which has very good facilities for younger people. They have a track and playing courts for basketball, racket ball, etc. But this gym does not meet the needs of seniors like my wife and I.

    When we reach our age and have issues with our knees, shoulders, back etc. along with arthritis. These issues prohibit us from doing that kind of exercise. We belong to a gym named “The Fit Stop” that is near Jazzercise and has all kinds of exercise equipment, including a small therapy pool, and other therapy devices. They have devices specifically for knee, shoulder, hip, back and many other issues to help strengthen and maintain strength throughout the body. This gym is used by many senior citizens like us, as well as by many much younger people.

    I am giving the Fit Stop owners information so they can contact Global Fit. They will be contacting you about getting The Fit Stop under agreement with you at Global Fit. Then those of us who belong to GEHA can get help through Global Fit’s program with GEHA to help pay for our gym memberships at The Fit Stop.

    Would you please let me know how I can help to facilitate an agreement between you at Global Fit and The Fit Stop.

  13. Your program seems to have no fitness service for seniors, like Silver Sneakers. I don’t know why my insurance company bought it. As someone mentioned above, it’s “useless to me.”

  15. SG Griffith, we offer discounts to everybody, and many gyms in our network do have senior programs. However, Silver Sneakers is a free program that’s covered by many insurance carriers. If you’d like to know if your insurance carrier covers Silver Sneakers, you would need to contact them directly.

  16. Lisa C, you can recommend a gym to our network, but each network gym sets its own policies as to whether or not they allow current or recent members to join through GlobalFit. For some gyms, GlobalFit’s discounts are available to new members only.

  17. Dennis B. Jensen, I apologize for the delay in responding. Our gym network team did speak with the Fit Stop owner, who declined to join the GlobalFit network. For what it’s worth, not all gyms permit current/recent members to join through GlobalFit; for some network gyms, GlobalFit’s discounts are only available for new gym members.   20. Is there any chance of adding Lifetime Fitness to the program? I belong to a Lifetime facility where many of my coworkers also are members, so there would be huge interest in adding them to the program.

    Participation in GlobalFit is for new gym members. Membership to a gym of which you are now, or were recently, a member may not be available, depending on the policy that the gym chooses to set. For the policies at gyms that are currently in our network, you would call 800-294-1500, and ask a Customer Sales Representative.

    We cannot guarantee that any gym or chain will choose to join our network and offer a discount (though we do add gyms to our network daily).
