QA ANALYST

Essential Functions:
- Support a four-person development staff by providing thorough QA of all work products.
- Perform testing and Quality Control of Business applications IT. Testing includes:
- Executing the newly-constructed application programs, as well as existing code requiring business-mandated changes against a set of test scenarios, scripts and data;
- Reviewing the application to ensure that existing standards were followed.
- Develop test scenarios, scripts, and plans, as well as creating test data that supports the testing of new applications and changes to existing applications.
- Act as a key contributor and influencer in the establishment and documentation of technical standards, and ensuring that technical design and construction comply with those standards.
- Defining, developing, and executing Test Plans and Test Scripts with expected results.
- Executing testing, documenting variances, following up with construction, and retesting until all variances are addressed.
- Regression testing.
- Assisting in definition of unit testing and use of comprehensive issue tracking systems.
- Test work product against model data provided by other departments.
- Ensure the application of information assurance policies, principles, and practices.
- Assist in the translation of business requirements into specifications and design.
- Assist in the development of estimates outlining business and technical risks.
- Participate in solutions for bugs and features; delve into code to identify problem areas.
- Providing timely status updates to CTO.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- A minimum of 3-5+ years proven experience performing testing and QA of public-facing web-based product.
- JavaScript, ASP, PHP, and Transact SQL code knowledge and experience.
- Ability to work under tight time constraints with verbal & written instructions of varying levels of detail and changing requirements.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong written and verbal skills from both business and technical perspectives.
- Minimum BSCS or equivalent experience.
