GlobalFit Founder Retires
PHILADELPHIA, PA - June 19, 2007– GlobalFit, the nation’s leading provider of healthy living benefits, announced today that John Cassady, GlobalFit Founder, will retire from his daily duties at the GlobalFit offices. Cassady founded GlobalFit 15 years ago and was instrumental in building the company into one of the most sought-after employee benefits.
“Although I am retiring from working at GlobalFit on a day-to-day basis, I will continue to serve on the GlobalFit Board of Directors,” Cassady said. “When I started GlobalFit, I had only planned to work with the company for ten years. Fifteen years later, the company is going through a rapid growth phase, and it’s time to let it grow on its own,” he added.
Leading the company for the past year has been President and CEO, Frank Napolitano. He has moved the company from being an aggregator of fitness club memberships into a full healthy living benefit.
“John is a creative thinker,” stated Napolitano. “GlobalFit was the first company to sell flexible and affordable access to fitness clubs through the corporate channel starting in the early 1990s. It took vision to see so long ago that corporate America would be desperate for ways to lower their health care costs today.”
“I have enjoyed watching GlobalFit grow from being a thought in my mind to being a thriving nationwide business,” said Cassady. “When I look at the company today, I am very proud of everything we do to improve the lives of the people we serve. However, my passion is for hatching new ideas, nurturing them, and moving on to the next endeavor. I am ready to take on new challenges.”
