About the Position:
The Controller, reporting to the Vice President of Finance, is responsible for day to day accounting and the preparation of monthly financial statements and analyses.

Summary of job duties:

Handling and managing areas including, but not limited to, preparation of monthly financial statements (GAAP and Free Cash Flow basis) and related account analyses

Assist in preparation of annual budget and prepare monthly variance analyses

Analyze financial and non-financial data used by Management to monitor and evaluate operating results on a short term basis as well as identifying longer term trends

Oversee preparation of payroll and Accounts Payable

Calculate sales commissions

Provide ongoing improvement to financial reporting and analyses process

Prepare work papers for annual audit by CPA firm

Supervise Accounting Assistant

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

B. S. in Accounting or Finance

Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience (both public and private a plus) including 2 years experience in Controller’s position

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

CPA a plus but not required

Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced skill level)

Working knowledge of Crystal Reports or other report writing software

Working knowledge of accounting software – use of QuickBooks a plus

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent analytical and organizational skills

An entrepreneurial attitude and a proactive business style

Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple detailed projects simultaneously

Ability to work well with all levels of organization

Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team
