Manager of Business Development

About The Position:
The Manager of Business Development must be an aggressive, results-oriented individual with rock-solid experience in client relations. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, the Manager must successfully manage all efforts to contract new client companies (Sponsors) and maintain positive relationships with existing Sponsors, as it is their employees who serve as the source of GlobalFit’s membership.

Summary of job duties:
  • Attract, develop, retain & inspire a team of Business Development Managers (BDM’s) and Sponsor Account Managers (SAM’s), including performance analysis and employee coaching, training and counseling, as appropriate
  • Establish departmental goals and develop appropriate strategies for a successful sales cycle
  • Maintain industry knowledge and continually educate team members on trends, etc.
  • Chair regular team meetings to review work, set goals & improve sales/closing skills
  • Draft, review & negotiate contracts
  • Create financially sound bonus plans/incentive models
  • Develop & run reports to monitor team activity & evaluate employee performance
  • Monitor cost controls & quality assurance
  • Serve as a key member of the management team

    Qualified candidates must possess the following:
  • 4-year college degree in Business OR 5 or more years related sales management experience, preferably to an HR audience
  • Strategic account management experience
  • Proven track record of high activity and ability to state specific metrics
  • Tremendous organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work well as a team member
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Superior listening and presentation skills
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, professionalism and grace under pressure
  • Ability to work well with all levels of organization
